What Is Hospice Care?
Hospice is a highly specialized type of care and medical treatment for individuals who are approaching their final days. When a person’s life expectancy has been limited by an illness like cancer or heart disease, hospice is an available service that can give families peace of mind.
The goal of hospice care is to ease the patient’s pain and elevate their comfort level in a nurturing environment. This comprehensive approach also offers emotional support for the patient and their family through the end-of-life process. Combined with palliative care, which tends to the person’s physical and spiritual needs, hospice care at Avon Health Center helps to improve your loved one’s overall quality of life.
